Xylophanes titana occurs in the tropical Americas, from central Mexico to northern Argentina, and in Trinidad. The wingspan is 60-88 mm. The forewing is pale brown with dark brown and cream lengthwise lines; the hindwing with pale yellow spots on the medial band and smaller apical spots. The abdomen is pointed, with two narrow, pale lines, merging into a single median line on the thorax. The caterpillar feeds on various species of the Rubiaceae.
